The Red Sharks started preseason training January 9 under the watchful eyes of an experience coaching staff. Trainer Otis Brae, Captain Roy Calvert  and Head Coach Romeo Monteith brought the boys back to basics as they put them through various exercises. The turnout was outstanding considering that it is early season. All the players seem pumped and are excited to be back on the grind. Each squad member knows that he will have to work hard for his spot as the team has been boosted by several new recruits .

Powerful forwards Andre "City" Mcfarlane, star of Jamaica's U20 RU campaign in Chile, Sheldon "Baygon" McDonald and Andre Mignott will all be looking to make a name for themselves in the 13 code this season. The boys are slowly adjusting to the teams system and style of play and have impressed the coaching staff with their strong running so far. Another new kid on the block is former Constabulary Knights flyer Everette Slater. Slater has been out of action for two years and is looking forward to his comeback season.

In the early weeks the focus has been on core skills and getting the players working in units. There has been some rough and tumble play in the squad games but the boys are loving the bash up and can’t wait for the season to kick off.
